Just bought a diesel motorhome? Congrats! Here’s how to get it squared away with CARB and the DMV.

Does my motorhome need Clean Truck Check?

If it’s diesel (or alternative fuel) and over 14,000 lbs GVWR, yes. California-registered motorhomes test once a year. Gas motorhomes don’t.

Five steps

1. Gather your paperwork: bill of sale, VIN, and delivery documents.
2. Log in to CTC-VIS (or make an account) and add the motorhome as its new owner.
3. Pay the yearly CARB fee there. CTC-VIS shows the current amount.
4. Get it tested. We’ll come to you, or bring it to our shop.
5. Finish your DMV registration once CARB shows it’s compliant.

Testing with us

We come to your driveway or storage lot, or you can bring it to Route 66. Big motorhomes are welcome. Just text us first so we can make room.
